The Odd Couple (play)

April 20-28

Distressed after his wife demands a trial separation, obsessively neat Felix Ungar  moves in with his slovenly friend Oscar Madison , whose wife has divorced him.

One of the most celebrated American comedies of all time, and considered Neil Simon’s most well-crafted and popular play, “The Odd Couple” is a hilarious take on the conflicts between two friends when they attempt to live together. Felix transforms Oscar’s messy, unsanitary, but comfortable, apartment into a sparkling clean—and highly regulated—space, driving Oscar crazy and exasperating even their poker buddies with his annoying ways.

Pollyanna (youth musical)

July 19-21

The musical, adapted by Bill Scurato of Harmony Township, is based on the 1913 novel by Eleanor H. Porter. It concerns the plight of an orphan girl, Pollyanna Whittier, sent to live with her “dutiful” but frigid, Aunt Polly in Beldingsville, Vermont. Pollyanna’s positive, upbeat personality becomes contagious and impacts the entire community. The audience is guided through the story by Aunt Polly’s maid, Nancy, who serves as narrator. Additional members of Aunt Polly’s staff are Tom the gardener, Martha the cook, and Tim the mechanic. Other principal roles include: John Pendleton, the richest man in town; Dr. Chilton, Aunt Polly’s long ago love; Reverend Ford, the spiritual leader of the community and Jimmy Bean, Pollyanna’s friend and ally. The sickly Mrs. Snow and daughter Millie provide light comic relief to the dramatic story. The uppity members of the Ladies Aid Society are featured roles comprised of Mrs. McGillicutty, Mrs. Bouregard and Mrs. Hoffinfeffer. Rounding out the principal characters is Mr. Pendleton’s cranky housekeeper, Gertrude.
